The Story of the Pencil

A boy was watching his grandmother write a letter at one point,he said:
'Are you writing a story about what we've done? Is it a story about me?'
His grandmother stopped writing her letter and said to her grandson:
'I am writing about you, actually, but more important than the words is the pencil I'm using. I hope you will be like this pencil when you grow up.'
Intrigued, the boy looked at the pencil. It didn't seem very special.
'But it's just like any other pencil I've ever seen!'
'That depends on how you look at things. It has five qualities which if you manage to hang on to them, will make you a person who is always at peace with the world.'
'First quality: you are capable of great things, but you must never forget that there is hand guiding your steps we call that hand God, and he always guide us according to his will.
'Second quality: now and then, I have to stop writing and use a sharpener. That makes the pencil suffer a bit, but afterwards, he's much sharper. So you, too, must learn to bear certain pains and sorrows, because they will make you a better person.
'Third quality: the pencil always allows us to use an eraser to rub out any mistakes. This means that correcting something we did is not necessary a bad thing; it helps to keep us on the road to justice.
'Fourth quality: what really happens in a pencil is not it's wooden exterior, but the graphite inside. So always pay attention to what is happening inside you.
'Finally, the pencil's fifth quality: it always leaves a mark. In just the same way, you should know that everything you do in life will leave a mark, so try to be conscious of that in your every action.´

The 2X3X Mindset

Does the title seems to be a bit abstruse. Let me break it down for you. This is something which I learned a few moths ago and guess what? It is doing wonders in my life! This principle states that if you want to  double  your income and your impact in your organisation, then you must  triple  your investment in your self-development.  You can't be progressing in your career if you are not willing to work on yourself and strive to be a better version of yourself with each passing day. What you'll have 2 years from now, 5 years from now,10 years from now solely depends on what you become and what are the things which you are willing to sacrifice today.  Your income hardly exceeds your self worth and once you acknowledge this very fact, you'll start realising that there is a very urgent need to start learning new skills and be very competitive. There are innumerable things which are out there in the world which can aide you reach your des...

Why I like the books of Dan Brown

We have all at one point in our lives regarded ourselves as bibliophiles. We have all been in a place where we get so engrossed into our literary paperbacks that the reality seems to be a at a far distant from us. You might have already, that I am no exception. I consider myself as a voracious reader of books who reads various genres since I don't want to deprive myself of the magnum opus of the literary greats in their respective subjects. Off late, I have been reading a lot of thriller books and who else could be better that the 'master of thriller', Dan   Brown . Literally guys, I have fell in love with his books! He has cracked the 'bestseller' code. The protagonist, Robert Langdon, a Harvard symbiologist, who strives to decipher seemingly impossible codes and tasks to save the planet. He is no less than a superhero for me, who unlike other superheroes, uses his brainpower rather than muscle power to get things done. Enigmatic puzzles and a complet...

The Journey

Pretty soon, I will see myself at the brink of embarking upon a new journey, a journey that will give exposure and inputs to my mind, the one that leads to realizing my capabilities, making be firm, bold and undeterred by the opinions of others. Taking the road less traveled has always been a phrase which we love to read, but I find that experiencing, it requires a lot more courage. It's always difficult to start your journey to a place which you've only read about, but never encountered before. There is a pride in my visage that this journey will help me to grow, but I won't deny the dread growing slowly at the back of my mind regarding whether I am fully prepared for it or not. Material success is necessary, but it means little when it is not complemented with the right values which one holds. My near and dear ones have made sure that I don't lose my values when people have something tempting to offer. Numerous dreams are riding on my shoulder, but ...
