Learning From Nature

The civilisation is trying to destroy it, But for our children, we've got to preserve it. The lush green grassland uplifts our mood, We owe to it a lot as it provides us with nutritious food, And helps to replenish water with its phenomenon called rain, Equanimity is the thing which it helps us to maintain. It rises above discrimination, giving plenty to all, We humans can learn from it who cheer from others' fall. Inspiring it is, service is its legacy, Will we ever shed our ignorance and reach out to the nature ? Well, hopefully! The last two words of this poem always ignites a sense of optimism within me that one day we will be able to comprehend the true value of nature rather than hurting it when it pleads for mercy; that one day we will take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the rainbow and the serenity of the sunrise ascending gently above the horizon rather than turning our backs onto it, missing out those small moments which really constitute a happy lif

A Visit to Orphanage and Old-Age home

Mere words won't be able to do justice to describe the kind of majestic experience which we had on that eventful day. A school trip is always a memorable one, but when it is to such a pious place, than it gets all the more interesting. To be honest, we went off from school in a picnic mode. We were all so excited and pumped up. We were sitting in the buses and there were mimicries being done and songs being sung. But when we got to the Old-Age home, the whole ambiance and the mood just changed in a dramatic manner. It was a big and a well maintained building. The girls were given the opportunity to see them first, while we boys were standing on the ground, waiting for our turn. After around half an hour or so, our teachers told us that we can meet them now.  So while going upstairs, we could see girls gushing out of the room and barely able to control their emotions and just breaking down, while the majority of them had moist eyes. When we entered the room, a gleeful

This Diwali, Let Us Smash The Traditional Vices

It was Sunday morning, the day most of the people look forward to. But it was not the case with Razia. She woke up heavy-heartedly. Reason- It was Diwali time, and unfortunately due to some or the other reason, she always finds herself in her hometown, Delhi, which off late has been popularly known as the 'gas chamber'.  Being a Muslim girl never stood in her way of celebrating Diwali with fervour and zeal. She buys new clothes, embellishes her house with some of her handmade craft materials and eats those savoury sweets along with her family. She goes to the place of her Hindu friends, wish all of them and would have a blast! But the only thing with which she maintains a certain amount of distance is the firecrackers. Nearly half of Delhi's kids suffer from 'severe' lung problems due to the deteriorating air quality and Razia is one among those hugely populated children who fall in this unfortunate category. She suffers from asthma, and therefore c

Why I like the books of Dan Brown

We have all at one point in our lives regarded ourselves as bibliophiles. We have all been in a place where we get so engrossed into our literary paperbacks that the reality seems to be a at a far distant from us. You might have already, that I am no exception. I consider myself as a voracious reader of books who reads various genres since I don't want to deprive myself of the magnum opus of the literary greats in their respective subjects. Off late, I have been reading a lot of thriller books and who else could be better that the 'master of thriller', Dan   Brown . Literally guys, I have fell in love with his books! He has cracked the 'bestseller' code. The protagonist, Robert Langdon, a Harvard symbiologist, who strives to decipher seemingly impossible codes and tasks to save the planet. He is no less than a superhero for me, who unlike other superheroes, uses his brainpower rather than muscle power to get things done. Enigmatic puzzles and a complet

The 2X3X Mindset

Does the title seems to be a bit abstruse. Let me break it down for you. This is something which I learned a few moths ago and guess what? It is doing wonders in my life! This principle states that if you want to  double  your income and your impact in your organisation, then you must  triple  your investment in your self-development.  You can't be progressing in your career if you are not willing to work on yourself and strive to be a better version of yourself with each passing day. What you'll have 2 years from now, 5 years from now,10 years from now solely depends on what you become and what are the things which you are willing to sacrifice today.  Your income hardly exceeds your self worth and once you acknowledge this very fact, you'll start realising that there is a very urgent need to start learning new skills and be very competitive. There are innumerable things which are out there in the world which can aide you reach your desired position. Be

Pablo Picasso And The Lady

Once, one of the greatest painters of all times, Pablo Picasso was in a market place. A lady saw him and said 'Mr Picasso, it's great to see you. I am a big fan of yours'. He said 'Nice to meet you'.The lady pulled out a piece of paper and a pencil and she said 'Mr Picasso, can you do a bit of art for me? Can you do a bit of drawing for me'? She asked in a voice which didn't seem to take a No for an answer. Picasso said 'absolutely'.  He quickly drew something and gave it to her. The lady looked at the drawing and she certainly was impressed by his art 'Oh Picasso, fantastic. This the best piece of drawing I've ever had', the lady said. After saying that, she starts walking away. Picasso called her and said 'Ah! my dear lady, that will be a million dollars.' The lady, obviously shell- shocked by that statement looked at him and said 'Picasso. A million dollars? It took you just 30 seconds to do that'. He said &

Don't Quit- Poem

Since last few days I've been listening to various poems by the budding poets around the globe and enjoyed most of them. But then I came across this one which was so serene and motivating, that I really couldn't resist myself from sharing it with you guys. It somewhat goes like this: When things go wrong as they sometimes will When the road you're trudging seems all uphill When the funds are low and the debts are high And you want to smile, but you have to sigh. When care is pressing you down a bit,  Rest, if you must, but don't you quit. Life is queer with it's twists and turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns And many a failure turns about, When he might have won had he stuck it out; Don't give up though the pace seems low You may succeed with another blow Often the gold is nearer than, It seems to be a faint and faltering man. Often the struggler has given up When he might have captured the victor's cup And he

Incorporate These 8 Habits To Be Successful

Have you observed that 97% of the population are aspiring for the things which only 3% of the population have got ? Why is it that the majority of the people are finding it difficult to climb the ladder of success, while the successful ones are growing leaps and bounds? What are the things which make successful people different from others?      Let me decode those 8 traits of successful people, in order for you to be a success in your field. Getting Up At 5 a.m. -  Some people get up at 9 a.m. and complain that they do not get enough time to do their important stuffs, not realizing the fact that they could have done it easily had they got up early in the morning. The first thing which the successful people do differently from the herd is that they get up at 5 in the morning.  While majority of the  people are sleeping, they are working. While others are in their dreamland thinking about that Lamborghini, the high achievers are grinding their way to their dream.
